San Francisco Telecommunications Tax Dispute

Dakessian represented a video telecommunications in a
$13 million tax dispute with the City and County of San Francisco. The
disputed issues included whether the company was subject to the
telecommunications users tax, whether the tax violated the Commerce
Clause, and whether the tax violated the Internet Tax Freedom Act.
Dakessian negotiated settlement for his client that saved $6 million in
assessed taxes, interest, and penalties.
